Daniel Balanescu’s “Emotion tickets” started in 1995 and is centered around the idea of transforming used metro tickets into an art project. The aim of the project is to engage travelers in a game where they can leave their mark by drawing, writing, or expressing their thoughts and impressions on the ticket. By doing so, Balanescu aims to create a collective portrait of society, reflecting the diversity of individuals who use the subway system. Through this project, Balanescu seeks to use art as a means of alleviating the stress and boredom of waiting for the next train while also connecting with and engaging the public.
